President of the World Armenian Organization and the Armenian Association in Russia

Ara Abramian was born in Armenia in 1957. Has a specialist degree in economics. Started his career in the “Neuron” production enterprise and in a short period of time was promoted from an engineer to the director-general. In 1989 was appointed deputy head of the USSR Electronic Ministry Department.

In 1991 Abramian became president of the “KOMEKS” company, one of the affiliates of the Russian Ste Corporation “Elektronika”. In 1993 he inspired constructing of the “Soglasie” LLC, of which he is the head until the present moment. In a short period of time “Soglasie” LLC has become a multi-profile investment and industrial structure.

Russia 's and Armenia 's businessmen frequently exchange visits, as part of Ara Abramian's initiative. These visits aim at reinforcing trade and economic links between the two countries, deepening the economic integration of the CIS countries. A great attention is paid to the mutual visits of the public figures, scientists and cultural workers, heads of the mass media, which encourages setting up fruitful contacts between theaters, museums, universities, and schools in Russia and Armenia .

For his diversified public activity Ara Abramian is granted with a number of state awards of Russia and Armenia , as well as grants received from the international and non-government organizations:

1991 – awarded a gorget “Honored employee” of the Ministry of Electronics of the USSR ;

1996 – awarded certificate of merit issued by the President of the RF;

1999 году – dubbed chevalier of the Order of St. Constantine the Great and awarded the order diploma;

1999 – awarded the title “The honored construction worker of Russia ”;

1999– awarded UNESCO's certificate of merit for taking part in the Kremlin reconstruction;

2000 – for outstanding deeds for Armenian people Ara Abramian was awarded the highest honor of the Armenian Apostle Church “The Order of the Holy Enlightener”;

2001 – for outstanding contribution to establishing the civil society in Russia Ara Abamian became laureate of the national “Personality of the year – 2001” award;

May 2002 – awarded the order of Friendship;

July 2003 – awarded the honor title of UNESCO “The Ambassador of Peace”.
